Working Principle

The Kaishan K30C DTH hammer operates on the principle of down-the-hole percussion. Compressed air is supplied through the drill pipe to the hammer, which is located directly above the drill bit. Inside the hammer, the air drives a piston in a reciprocating motion. The piston strikes the bit with high impact energy, fracturing the rock. After the impact, the air is exhausted through the bit's flushing holes, clearing cuttings from the hole and cooling the bit. The hammer's design ensures that the impact energy is efficiently transferred to the rock, while the air distribution system minimizes pressure losses. The rotation of the drill string indexes the bit for the next impact, allowing continuous drilling. This method is highly effective in hard rock formations, as the hammer delivers powerful blows directly to the bit without energy loss through the drill string.
