Working Principle
The Kaishan M3K DTH drill bit operates on the principle of down-the-hole percussion. High-pressure air is delivered through the drill string to the DTH hammer, which drives the piston to strike the bit's shank at high frequency. The impact energy is transferred to the tungsten carbide buttons on the bit face, which crush and fracture the rock. Simultaneously, the air flows through the bit's flushing holes to remove cuttings from the hole bottom and carry them to the surface. The bit rotates slowly, indexing the buttons to new positions for even wear and efficient rock breakage. This combination of impact and rotation allows the M3K to achieve high penetration rates in hard rock with minimal energy loss. The design ensures that the bit remains cool and clean, extending its service life and maintaining drilling efficiency.
